DungeonStep
A downloadable game for Windows
Made at TOJam20 (www.tojam.ca), using
the Sphere engine (www.spheredev.org).
The Story:
Twenty years have passed since your
father, known across the lands as
the "Rouge Rogue," was slain at the
hands of the killer rabbit that they
call "Bunny." You arrive at the port
city of Bunnsmith, where there are
rumors that the dreaded rabbit that
killed your father is lurking in at
the bottom of the nearby monster
dungeon. With steadfast determination
you set out to avenge your family.
Instructions:
Left-Click to move your player around
and reveal the map. If there are enemies
around a given tile, that tile will have
a number on it consisting of the total
sum of strength of enemies adjacent.
When you move to such a tile, you will
take that amount of damage. Damage taken
will be reduced by your armor level (one
point of damage per armor level). If your
armor level is greater than the damage,
then there will only be a chance that you
will take 1 damage.
To kill an enemy your character must be
adjacent to the enemy and your weapon
level must be at least the strength
level of the enemy.
To increase your armor or weapon level
you can visit the armor and weapon shops
in the town and pay gold. The Inn will
restore your health for 5 gold, and save
your game, which can be loaded by going
to the LOAD house in town. Only one save
slot exists.
When exploring the dungeon, clicking on
a staircase will take you up or down one
floor. If you CTRL+CLICK on up staircase,
it will bring you to the overworld
immediately, while CTRL+CLICK on a down
staircase will take you to the current
lowest floor of the dungeon you've
explored.
Make it to the 29th floor of the dungeon
to face off against your nemesis!
The Controls:
Left Click: Move/Attack.
ESCAPE: Exit Game.
F1: Show Help Screen.
